Whats wrong with my dyno results
I went to a local dynojet and had my car dynotuned after the breakin period and my car basically went unchanged through the dyno session the peak hp was only 181.2 whp and 145.6 ftlbs of torque I think there is something wrong they did almost 10 runs playing with the vafc-2 and all they could really do was flatten out the charts please give me reasons why the numbers are so long all of the stuff I have is in my sig. It is an obd-2 car but i am ver dissapointed do i just need a better tuner or a different computer or what. I would post the charts but i don't know how to. Thanks

The only reasons I can come up with would be there is something wrong with the motor (lacking compression) or the tuner was not well qualified in tuning your car.

Yeah those numbers look really low. Import tuner magazine dynoed a lude with bolt ons and crower cams and resulted in:
Peak HP: 187.0
Peak TQ: 153.6
This is for comparison, so either something is wrong with the motor or your tuner was no good? Kinda hard to pinpoint the exact problem, so good luck.

It would really help if you posted your dyno graph but since you say you don't know how you could send it to me or someone else on this board so they can post it. Also, what kind of dyno did you use? Dynojet, Dynopack, Mustang dyno?

yah I have str cam gears and this test was conducted on a dynojet. But the place said that they contacted crower and they said not to mess with the cam gears the a/f was hooked up and it was a little above 14 the whole time

I dont know man that sounds kinda shady. Either way with type S pistons those cams, and all the stuff you got you should of hit the 200 mark. Something is wrong.

they tried to add fuel with the vafc but the car responded horribly lost a bunch of hp when vtec hit and they didn't really make a difference in the car They tuned the car for about 3 hrs and didn't really make a difference. I think my clutch is slipping a little but would that make that big of a difference I was hoping for much bigger numbers than this what should I do to take care of this problem what problems should I look for or should I simply try to find a good tuner

Why would crower tell the shop not to mess with the cam gears?

well I am stumped because I don't think just tuning the cam gears will give me all the power I think I should be making. Does anyone know of a good tuner to take care of the problem in the Norcal area. Or would it be better getting it looked at by a mechanic. I will try to get the graphs up by tonight
OBDII and the 5th gen distributor doesn't let you advance the timing at all. There's a few horsepower there. With OBD1 I got a few extra HP when the timing was advanced to 17 degrees from the stock 15 degrees. I would think you have a potential for 190 whp in your set-up.
I'm suprised no one else asked you this but, what are you running from the header back? Stock cat? What kind of exhaust? If you're running a restrictive setup past the header exit your peak numbers are going to be significantly less than they could be.
well heres a dyno of what mine did to use a a point of reference. yours should be making over 200whp easily. all i have is an i/h/e and a crower vt w/stage 2 cams.

i sure i could have broken 200, but i dont care to run it much leaner. better safe than sorry.
