Default Does it matter what you start with?

It's pretty much time to sell my car, and I was thinkin about an EM1 and getting a Kseries a little down the line. Well my question is, does it matter whether it's auto/manual [the em1] to begin with? I'm going to be getting the whole swap from a K series anyway. The reason I ask is cause I need to get an automatic civic for now so that my mother/father can drive if need be.

Different chassis require different amounts of work. The easiest auto to manual chassis in my opinion is the EF Civic/CRX, no mounts to cut and reweld, no hydraulic lines to run, etc. I did it in my fiances 91 CRX and it was very easy, hardest part was the pedal board install. Since you are talking a much newer car, unless you talk to someone who has already done the swap, there won't be a lot of info to be found since it's so new. But no matter what, a manual to manual swap is always going to give you less work.
