Default Doing a clean tach. installation...

I just purchased an autometer Cobalt tachometer... I am going to install it when it gets in... you have to cut a hole in your dash to get the wires through right? So how do I make it look clean??? Should I just stick a piece of loom trough the hole up to the back of the tach. bezel?

Also, in a 98 Prelude which side of the guage cluster should I put it on... I am also installing a whole new A-pillar plastic piece with two or three 2" pods built in, so would the tach. look too busy on the left side? opinions plz!

Doesn't your Prelude come with a stock tach?

I am sure it does. Mine comes with one too, but it didn't stop me from installing my Automemter ACCURATE tach to go along with my swap. You shouldn't need to drill a hole for the wires, just run them to a crease in the dash. You will probably need to drill to mount the tach though. Some black wire loom will make it look good.

I got an aftrmkt tach bcz the factory one is INCORRECT, and there is nothing wrong with a little show in the cockpit... you know, the stuff that makes your friends say "whoa!" when they sit down... and it will match my OEM style blue glow guages (I am replacing the factory ones tomorow...)

To the guy in acworth... Its a 98 Prelude... eucalyptis green... are you still in school? Im a senior at Harrison... whats your name man?

And about the wires... there is no crease in my dash... so should I just drill a hole? and also, should I bolt down the tach. mounting bracket, or should I just put a couple stubby screws through it?

wow... thanks for the helpfull reply... I would apreciate it if you shut your mouth and left... thanks...

so, about the wires... there is no crease in my dash... so should I just drill a hole and use the wire loom? Also, should I bolt down the tach. mounting bracket, or should I just put a couple stubby screws through it?
