Anyone with K24 CRVTEC Experience? I need some help!
I'm helping someone build a K-series CRVTEC, and we were pricing out parts and the dealer and we encounted big price differences between Element K24 parts and CRV K24 Parts...
The CRV Main bearings are 3x more expensive for CRV then element.
The CRV Headgasket is more expensive.
The CRV Crank is more expensive.
The Oil Pumps are the same.
The Block is the same.
What are the difference between the Element and CRV K24 motors. Which is better to use for a high performance application. This motor is going to be pretty bad and in an EG hatch, but it wants to be made soon, so we wanna know asap..
Can anyone help?

I sent him the thread, and asked for help. But I understand that some people don't want to reveal what the find out, b/c it cost them time/money/effort to find that information..
I used to know the secret to running a/c in a h22 eg/ek with factory parts, back in the day when no one knew how to do it... lol... but I eventually told a few people and now lots of people know it.

Try emailing the guys at skunk2..they just built a k24 with layin' down 215whp (in need of a hew header & exhaust - with that they say they'll have 20+ more whp) with either a R head or a S head with R cams. The best part is the motor laid down about 200lb/ft of torque
EDIT - sorry it was 175lb/ft of torque

What im curious about is if there is a difference in quality with the more expensive vs cheaper parts...
Like the difference b/w ls bearings and vtec bearings (tri metal), or ls water pump vs gsr water pump..etc..
