I searched, but couldn't quite find anyone with the same problem. Here it goes...I've had my '98 JDM ITR motor runnin' for 'bout a month now, and it runs fine, and feels very strong, but sometimes the idle is strange...Actually I don't know if you would call it idle. Say I'm driving down the interstate (around 4000 rpms) and then when I put the clutch in on an offramp or similar to come to a stop, the rpms only drop to about 1500, sometimes higher/lower(only by couple hundred rpms). When I sit still at the light, etc. for a minute or two, idle slowly drops to normal...bout 800-900rpms. It almost seems that speed affects it...when I'm going slow from light to light through town, it always seems to drop to normal rpms, but if I really get on it and get going up to speed when I put the clutch in the rpms are high again. Any suggestions??? THanks in advance.

yep... it's like a "cool down" after extended freeway/hard driving... mind you mine drops TO 1.2k from about 1.8k hehe... but I chalk that up to my TB and unadjusted IACV.

those idle's are normal.
i have had two ITR's now and they both have same charcteristics. When stuck in traffic or sitting at lights after 'in-town' driving my RPM's drop well below 1000.
i had the car in for a check up and the head techinician said that this is normal....he confirmed my thoughts

How do you guys adjust the Iacv? When clutching in from the freeway or high rpms, my idle would sometimes just drop and stall. No problems starting, no hesitation, no idle fluctuation, it just drops and stalls.
When the car is warm my idle is at 900rpm, almost perfect I'd say. It just seems to stall out after clutching in from a freeway exit or something. I have checked spark plugs, vacuum hoses, and replaced my spoon thermostat and ctr pulley (btw both are for sale
) with the stock equipment just to hopefully see any changes, nothing, same as if I still had them on.
So, my question is, do you think Hondata can be used to help with this problem? I have been told by some tuners it can, but others, it wont. Any experiences? So far its been an unsolved mysterme.
