Default SHOULD I KEEP AUTO TENSIONER?

well after i bent my valves, i upgraded the valvetrain. everything else is stock. im just wondering if its ok to keep my auto tensioner becasue im short on money. heh. i dunno fi it would fail because of my new valvetrian or not, pleeease help.

Do it right the first time...that's my philosophy!! Particularly since the damages could be pretty high

How many miles are on the tensioner? I know practically everyone with a 5g has had problems with the tensioner (including my self twice) and they end up doing the H23 conversion. Im getting ready to change out my tensioner next week but honda has a new tensioner and timming belt that supposebly has been re-worked and fix the old tensioner problem. So im gonna try their new one and see how this one holds up.

If i were you i would replace it just for the security of knowing its new, what kinda valve train did you go with? How stiff are the springs?

i went with skunk2, i have no idea how still they are, but will mmy auto tensioner work for now?

how do i use a screwdrive to drive it back down?? (where do i put it) and also wat is thing shiney thing in the mid with the big screw in it, i always thought that was the tensioner...=/

i agree with andy on this one.....u might have to come more out of the pocket if you dont do it right...

especially if your running a skunk2 valvetrain,
i would definately go with the h23 conversion
