Ohlins of Japan are not manufactured by Ohlins, but by other licenced conpanies. I have no doubt that they'd be good, but you can probably get some of equal quality elsewhere and possibly have a warranty and tech support to back them up.

I live ten minutes from the Ohlins USA headquarters. Their products produced in Europe are some of the finest in the world, but I'd be a bit wary of the Japanese ones. A better bet is to try and find a good used set of Tein coilovers.

OT::that ebay seller has been trying to sell those for over a year. i remember i almost bought that set from that seller.

i agree with kendall be wary of them. just becuase its JDM doesnt mean its better. think in the same process like skunk2 and APC...just cuz its american is it better. do more research and check out more on ohlins. IMO you could get a set of tein, apex'i,hks, tanabe or others for the same price. just look on the net.

What it comes down to is if you have the capabilities to have any particular setup tuned for your needs. This is fairly easy with suspension companies like Tanabe and Tein where there are a number of tuner shops around the US that will be glad to help you. A company like Ohlins is more exclusive to the racing market, so therefore the majority of the people qualified to tune their suspension products will be in race shops generally either not open to the public, or far too expensive to justify having them work on them. Someone in Western North Carolina could probably get away with running them becase the Ohlins headquarters is in Hendersonville (aka Hendo). But even so, these are the JDM coilovers manufactured by licensed companies, not Ohlins, so I don't know how useful the headquarters would be.
