Best Car Club to Join? NASA, SCCA, etc...
I'm looking to join a car club soon, and was wondering whats everyones take on the different ones. Is there one that may be better?
I heard NASA does a lot of track days at VIR. I also hear SCCA does a lot of autocrosses. Theres also something in Virginia called VMSC that supposed to do a lot of autocrosses.
Any suggestion, comments, guidance?

Join both. Get the bost of both worlds. I personally like SCCA a little better, it's more organized. (at least that's how it is in California). I haven't been to any of their autoX's, but I have been to their road coarse events. SCCA = more sessions, more instruction, course restrictions i.e. shikanes(for the lower groups) . NASA = less sessions, less instruction(only given to group 1), more freedom

Well in Va, the NASA autocrosses are pretty well organized. The SCCA autocrosses are well organized as well but some of the regions don't run as smoothly as others. The WDC-SCCA is probably the best.
As for track time, you won't find it with SCCA in VA. NASA is definitely the way to go. In the past some say NASA was disorganized but that is no longer true. They run a really tight ship at their driver education/race weekends. I've flagged for them a few times and I was impressed with their level of professionalism. SCCA is as professional with their races so if you plan to race I would probably run with both, depending on what class you want to be in. NASA will have Honda-Challenge next year so you might wanna look into that (honda-challenge.com). Also, there is a group of 7-10 Virginia Type-R's that run with NASA, you can find them on the competition board. All of them are pretty cool. The next track event is Nov. 3-4 at Summit Point. You can get a group discount if you sign up with the Honda-tech competition board group.
Hope to see you around.

If you are on a budget. You would better off signing with NASA or PDA.
Because SCCA's autocross allows anyone to come in to participate, non-members pay $5 more.
But in track events, non-members is at least $20 or more.
