Default AXLE! problem and question!

Hey everyone!

So, I had my passenger side axel go bad, so I went with reman axels.

The first I tried was from a 1995 Del Sol DOHC VTEC, and that was about an inch too short which caused a tranny fluid leak. The second one, which I tried tonight was from a 99 Civic SI, and that wasnt the right size in the tranny, you could rotate the axel and it wouldnt catch all the time in the tranny, even though it was in all the way.

My question is .... why wont these fit? I thought that they should, and any 94+ Integra has the same pass. side axel part number. Also, the axle I tried tonight from the SI .... I tried it in my D15 and it seemed to fit correctly. Was there a 99 Civic that came with a SOHC motor?

Do you think they simply gave me the wrong axel? I really need my car working and need an axle that fits. The setup is a JDM B16 SIRII in a 93' 4-door Civic.

THankls!

Get a 94-00 teg axle and you will be fine. It doesn't matter if it's the ABS or non-ABS model. They will both fit.

Because you bought a remanufactured axle, I would say they either gave you the wrong one or it was not built to spec which happens a lot. I had to get 3 axles before I got the right length one for my 100% stock 88 Civic beater. The ones they kept giving me were about 1" or so too short and it would pop out from the tranny side when I made a turn. You can use 94-01 Integra, 90-93 Integra or 99-00 Civic Si passenger side axles. And yes, there were 99 Civic's that came with SOHC motors - CX, DX, LX, EX models.

dwnthehatch, I allready tried an axle from a 95 Del Sol, and it was too short, and ALL the axles from 94-00 Integras have the SAME part number, so I wasnt going to try that.

Im going to call them and double check that they indeed gave me the right part number. Thanks for posting guys !

Well I just got off the phone with the store, and their computers list the D16 and the B16 as having the same passenger side axles.
So, I dont really know what to do, but tonight I'm just going to try another Intregra axle with the same part number as the one that was too short.

this sucks

the d16 and b16 are not the same
just get a 94 integra axle and be done with it
simple as that

The remanufactured axle that you used was either wrong or not rebuilt to spec. If that's not the case then you car's suspenion/frame has some serious issues.
