Default B18C5 Review Questions

Ok. 88 Si. Here is the list of things I wrote up as needed, feel free to add stuff or explain if something isnt needed.

Obviously the motor and tranny, Im going to do the cable to hydro conversion
Hasport or similar mount kit and tranny conversion kit
clutch fluid reservoir and lines

Now heres the question. What is the easiest way to wire this sucker up? The way I look at it I have a couple good options. I can get a Zdyne ECU, but Im not sure what has to be done with that to get that retrofitted to the stock harness. I can custom wire it, using alot of time, patience, and a couple manuals, or simply just get a conversion harness from Hasport. Also, wouldnt it be possible to just get a harness out of a GSR?

Last part here is axles. From what I hear, I have to make hybrid axles to use in this application? BTW, Ive been searching but the information is hard to get with the "minimum word length" crap..

1 last thing. What will I need to swap out the rear drums on the 88 Si with discs? Basically just swap the whole rear suspension out of a 90 or 91 Si, correct? Thx for the help

I think you should edit your title. I was expecting to read about your experiences from stock to B18

if you get the cable to hydro conversion kit you won`t need the master cylinderfor the clutch . it simply converts the hydro tranny to your cable . also on your wiring you can use your stock harness and add 4 wires for the vtec setup . knock sensor , vtec solenoid , vtec switch , and secondary o2 sensor . trust me it`s gravy . also get a pr3 ecu to run everything .

How about the axles? Anyone have a link to some of this info somewhere?

yah dont even attempt to use the b18c5 engine harness. just use the Si one and add the wires needed, also try getting a obd0-obd1 jumper harness so u can use a p28 and obd1 distributer.
