Default Bigger TB for GSR...worth the bucks??

I have a j spec 1.8 dohc vtec engine in my 99 civic hatch. I believe the OEM throttle body size is 62mm at the inlet and then tapers to 60mm at the IM. I ordered a jeg's 65mm TB to fight at ticket, (which i'm not gonna go into... long story, but they did drop it a bit so better than nothing )

I was just gonna send it back but I think I might reconsider. It was around 320 with the sensors included. I thought that TB weren't really worth the money IMO. It's it worth it at all? Does anyone have an after market on installed that they were happy with?

I might be going turbo soon, so would this make even more of a difference then? or no...?

with a good flowing intake and manifold it would give you a few hp. And with cams even more. I would say go for it.

Your better bet is a different intake manifold like the AEBS or the Skunk2. But it would be more beneficial to run both the larger Throttle body with the better IM so I'd keep it.

I agree with Kendall...get atleast a type R mani and port-match the new TB to the plenum...however, I would have gone bigger than 65mm.

To answer the question, it is worth it to get an big bore TB.

But the ITR manifold won't bolt onto the P72 head. Your best bet is the AEBS manifold, it outflows the ITR manifold and costs under $200. The Skunk2 is a direct copy of the ITR manifold but is available for both the PR3 (B16/ITR) head, and the P72 (GSR) head.

Ok then I'm gonna keep it I think. I was planning on ordering the skunk2 stage 2 cams, valves, springs retainers, Intake manifold, and then a header. Possible a ECU chip too. I heard that skunk2 chips the P72. Can i still pass emmisions with that chip?
