Default Are 2 12" Kicker L7's Underpowered with MTX81000D?

I don't know if anyone is familiar with these products, but like the title says I have 2 12 L7s in a ported box. I know the subs are 750-1500 watts power range each, and the amp is rated for at least 1200 watts. At least that actually because it was tested at 12 volts and has 1262 watts at that voltage, so it is more at higher rpms/voltage. Anywho, the subs hit really hard as it is, but it seems like they should be louder. The answer seems obvious (750+750 = 1500 minumum power), but I was wondering if I threw another 1000 watt amp if they would be like crazy louder. If they are underpowered, could I use another of the same amp because the subs are both dual 2 ohm voice coil. I have them wired to 2 ohms now, but can I still keep 2 ohms with 2 amps?

The L7's can probably handle more power but the MTX81000D is know to put out about 1500-1700RMS at 2ohms. Also you cant get 2ohms per sub if they are dual 2's. So pretty much not a good idea to get another 81000D, you could run the two amps at 1 ohm, but they wont like that much, they wil either protect or overheat most likely. You can also run them at 4ohm a pice, but that wont make it any louder either.

simply 750+750 is not the recommended power handling from Kicker. The recommended power depends on the box. The bigger the box, the less power you'll be able to send the sub. The smaller the box, the more power you can send to the sub. This is, of course, assuming you stay within the coil thermal ratings (750 watts RMS).

If your sub is reaching full excursion already, no point in adding more power because you won't get the sub to move any further. Adding more power will cause thermal failure.

You can go with another amp, but in the end, you're essentially getting the same amount of power to each sub because the 12L7 has to be wired in series or else the amp is going to overheat.

by going louder you have to spend alot more money and move towards more subs in small sealed boxes. But come on dude, two L7s, in ported boxes, i think your fine. I have one W3 in a sealed box being run by a small amp, and sometimes i think, do i really need all this.
