Help Needed Fast! JDM 4-1 & Carsound install...
Ok I got everything disconnected, except for the 2nd O2 sensor. Is there an easy way to disconnect it so that I can unscrew it from the cat? The wires just lead straight up into the undercarriage without any kind of connector that I can disconnect. How do I get this thing out? Thanks in advance!!!

I just pulled out as much wire as I could, and used a monkey wrench to loosen it, then kept turning till it came out. The wires get all twisted up but no damage was done to my car when doing it this way. you could probably turn the cat by hand and somehow hold the O2 at the same time..
Dave... you are officially a We-Todd now.... the connector is inside the interior compartment... pull back the carpet behind the radio area.... unplug, and push the grommet through the floorboard.

I disagree. As my brain records some completely useless information, I recall the exact date this convo occured. it was sept 2nd. Seeing as how it's not even been one month, and that you told me that the car wouldn't start and you put 20oz of h20 into the battery to fill it up about 1-2 weeks ago, my estimate of 2 weeks is off by 1 week at most. I'll update my sig to 2-3 weeks later
The conn is indeed in the car but when you pull out the grommet that goes through the body you can work out the conn from underneath. Then you can just disconnect it and remove to other cat.
Hi George,
Well I really didn't notice any difference but then again I was trying to keep the RPM's under 3K. Long story short: I think I got the wrong Carsound cat, so I limped my car home (we did the work at my friends house) running just the open JDM 4-1 header and I parked it and I'm going to be driving the Mazda til I can get things straigtened out. So how do you like yours so far?

"The cat makes a slight whooshing noise" this is probably from the mismatch at the B pipe it may go away when you get the 2-1/2" cat back system on.

As for the 2nd O2, you can pull this completely out from under the car, then disconnect it. Then stuff it back inside the opening after installing the O2 on the new cat, very east task.

Yeh, just drop the stock cat with the O2 installed, then remove it. You may also want to use a little anti seeze on the threads for ease of removal when a test pipe may go in at the track.
Where can I purchase a carsound cat? What is the model number that you purchased? Was it 2.5 in. on both sides? Is it a direct bolt on to the JDM 4-1? How much? Sorry for all the questions. Thanks
