5gen AT helps with upgrades
Hello all just needing a little bit of help .. i just got a 5gen 98 prelude with the AT that sports shifting thing.. well the question that i have is there someone that does ECU upgrades and camshafts? will a MT camshaft fit? Thanks for all your help..
all the cams are the same for the h22...whether its a auto or manual tranny. as for ecu chip upgrades for the auto im sure you can use hondata? if im wrong someone correct me cause im not sure.

so i can use skunk II cams .. and will the AT tranny be strong enough to hold the upgraded HP..

You cannot use any standalone that replaces the stock ecu in the auto 5th gen. The tranny computer and the auto ecu are tied together by two data wires, and if the engine ecu is not present, the tranny computer will not function properly.
i installed some in my buddies girlfriend's car and they run a lot more aggressive than stock in the auto prelude (was a lot better in my lude that is a stick shift). as for re-chipping, don't mess with that.

well thanks for all the help.. i think i will go with the skunk cams and just keep my eyes and ears out for re chipping a AT .. there just has to be someone out there that will try ...
