Default JDM Bumper...

**BACKGROUND: some lady ran into me and screwed up my front passenger-side fender & Bumper - so now I need a new bumper cover**

I was wondering if anyone as first-hand experience w/installing a 4th JDM Bumper cover on to a USDM 4th gen. The vendor who I am thinking of purchasing from says it should bolt-up the same but I want to be sure. I thought I heard a long time ago that the USDM bumper required diff supports etc. for US crash standards that the JDM ones didn't have. I'm not sure if I made that up or if its true...and if that is true I don't know if that would make it any diff to bolt-on.

Any input is appreciated.

THANKS

the bumper itself is exactly the same... so don't get it if you're just getting the bumper. It's the support frame that's different. It's much lighter duty and doesn't meet the US crash regulations, but it also bolts up, and saves weight.

they are the exact same as said above....I am currently in Yokosuak Japan, and they dont look one bit different.

If you want but a bodykit with the insurance money, but if you want JDM spend your money elsewhere....there is no difference....mounting points are the same

Thanks for the replies.

Yeah I'm not getting it (if I do) because its "JDM yO!" but just because I can get on used for less than $150 and its OEM Honda...the fact that I can tell people its "MAdd JDM" is only a bonus to the fact that its Genuine honda and cheap

So it sounds like it will bolt-up the same - right? If so sweeet...

PS: does anyone know where else I could get new or used USDM or JDM 4th Gen Bumper for $150 or less???

Oh, and I want a bodykit but there are pretty much NO good & clean 4th Gen FULL-BUMPER BodyKits (any suggestions)...

I would take a Mugen one I think...maybe the orig. HIRO one too, thats about it...I'm more likely to get a front lip (WW RS or Satan's Spoon one if I win the lottery )
THANKS AGAIN

There are few salvage yards around...and judging by how many Preludes I see around here in Canada...err Maine...I prob. won't be many if any around but yeah your right I should check locally first.

If I wasn't going to try to get JDM BLK Housing headlights for my Black 4th gen I *MIGHT* be able to afford one of Satan's lips but I have always wanted those headlights..what do you think- am I crazy?

Also I think Satan has to do another production run b4 any are available.

by the way JZ ... I am not that mechanically inclined - how bad is it to wire up the JDMs (your avatar leads me to beleive you had them on yours)?
