Default Removing outer CV joint

I bet this has been talked to death but I can't find any info when I searched the site. How do you get the outer CV joint off of the shaft. In my VW days I would just pop the ***** out of the races and then get to the snap ring inside the joint. Doesn't seem to work on the Honda joints. Any tricks.

Should have gone with a new shaft but already have a new outer joint.

Tried that with no results. Used a big sledgehammer and even clamped it in a vise and tried to pry it with a pry bar. Will order a rebuild halfshaft tomorrow. Thanks for the response. If I had a plasma cutting torch I'd give that a try.

FWIW, the 94’ FSM recommends using a two jaw “commercially available bearing remover” to remove the spider. You might give it a try if you have one. Best of luck. – KC
