You need to give more info, how much power do you want, what is the car for?
A good first choice is a 14B they are cheap and can make more power then the stock motor can support.

500hp is high on a sohc u would have to spend a lot on building the engine. More realistic would be 200 -300hp.

350-360 is possible on a sohc.

sleeve it, get headwork done, turbo cam, tune with hondata or equiv. ,crowers and some je's, big FMIC and the odds and ends.

you could run 20 psi on a good build. either use a 60trim t3 or a big 16g or something in those terms.

Take your 5 g's and buy a first gen Eclipse GSX, this will allow you to be turbo and avoid having to think.

Read anything and everything in the archives that interests you for a month, then come back and post, no offense, we were all new sometime, but it'll save you tons of flaming.

but 500 hp is not something you're gonna be able to do with a d16 [certainly not with 5 grand..]

I have the money & motivation. I also got the man power, too. So, do you know any turbos that are able to manage that.
