Default how weak are rsx motor mounts?

i drag race my car often, and i know im not the only one that drag races their rsx alot.. so someone must go through the same problems i do. in the past, launching at about 3 grand i would get aggressive wheelhop off the line and hitting second gear. i then stepped up and bought es motor mount inserts..which cured wheel hop for awhile then came back...
this past weekend i drag raced at fontana dragstrip...on nitto nt555r's at 17 psi launching at 4500...got crazy wheel hop on my last run. this week there have been clucking noises when i drive..i later brought the car to acura to get it diagnosied...they said that i have blown the rear motor mount..and the noise is my motor rocking in the engine compartment....has anyone encountered this problem..or am i the first??????????

Many many people on clubrsx have blown either their front or rear mount. I tore my front. Just get the es motor mount inserts.

Could a torque damper help motor mounts from wearing out faster or tearing?

well i had the motor mount inserts installed at a shop called Autolink...charged me $100+ ....my next move is to fix the rear blown mount then order the j's engine dampener....cuz obviously the motor mount inserts alone weren't curing my wheel hop.

i don't even drive my car hard but bushings in my j's dampener kind of fell apart. so i had to find replacements. to me, the dampener puts stress on the stock motor mounts. if you drive your car hard the dampener won't last that long or the stock motor mounts will wear again. i think since you're having your motor mounts replaced anyway why not get racing motor mounts, not inserts.

i dont think u understood what i wrote....i got inserts along time ago, when i started to bring this car to the dragstrip....my rear mount broke, and so the acura dealer is replacing it for free due to warranty. i am not getting new inserts to cure the problem...the inserts didnt work for me. so the next step is to get my car fixed and the dampener...frm what i hear the inserts and the dampener work pretty well. i obviously wont get race mounts because i simply dont want to pay for mounts.

yup just rear for now, they had a few kits out but had to stop production because there was too much vibration from engine... so back to the drawing board.
the rear mount takes the most stress

hasport said they should have replacment mm kit out by end of feb

actually, i think i understand. you're fixing the blown mount and having es inserts installed as well as a j's dampener to supplement. the thing is, in my opinion the dampener won't tolerate constant hard driving. i figured since the car is going into the shop, to replace the blown mount, why not have them replace it with race mounts. es inserts and the torque dampener will be unnecessary.

the only reason im not going to replace the mounts to race mounts is because my car is at the acura dealer...the dealer is fixing my car free of charge due to warranty. (sorry i should have been more specific)
