IMO you just didnt ajust the valves properly.

It took me 3 tries to get mine right, its kinda touchy.

Another possibility is your distro, it tends to make a noise like the valves clicking.

listen in on it

It might also be possible that some part of your valvetrain might be bent. When I took my head off and forgot to adjust them, it ran very bad. I had tightened them too much and after adjustment, I have some noise.

I'll admit ignorance and say I have no clue what that is

what about your rocker arms? did you adjust those when you adjusted the valves?
I had the knocking noise with my zc and one of my rocker arms was really loose. tightened it up and it stopped. Just throwing that out there.

i'd have to agree with this one. get the LMA's from an ITR and you'll be set.

My valves don't make noise, but my Haltech, 770 cc injectors, and mad *** piston slap cover up all that valve train noise...

Does the noise go away when you hit vtec ? If so it is probably the lma's.

is this cylinder shaped bullet that goes on the valvetrain under the VTEC rocker arm
is function is to control the motion of the VTEC arm when is not in use , so it doesnt jump all around and is hard for vtec to kick in
(basic explanation)
