what im wondering is will the Si final drive be worth swapping into my ls tranny. will it work well with boost? another question what are the ideal gear ratios that you want for a turbo car? any help would be greatly appricated.

 

it would almost be a poor mans GSR with a longer 4th and 5th gear which isnt really a bad thing if your working with a stock LS redline. GSR pretty much has ideal gear ratios for boost because you keep it at high rpms, while a straight B16A trannys gearing is a little too short. itd more worth the while to install a LSD while replacing the final drive because tearing apart transmissions sucks

 

well i have already installed a quaife about a year ago and the motor is at golden eagle being built so im bored and have all kind of extra crap layin around in the shop. i just dont feel like spending the cash on a new quaife for a gsr tranny(and buying the tranny itself). so im just tryin to get as close to the gsr tranny as i can.

I'm thinking about putting b16 3rd and 4th gears in my ls tranny. They're shot anyway, what does everybody think about that idea?
