Signed up for Sunday event at Gulf Greyhound Park, 4th group.
Getting to flog around Mazda 3's - $40
Getting to flog around Mazda 3's some more - same $40
Getting to take the RX8 for a sunday drive in the 'driving center' - priceless...
Vracer111, who doesn't really care about the Mazda 3's, it's driving the RX-8 he's interested in....
P.S. - I wish there was some way that the Mazda Rev It Up event could use manual transmissioned cars instead of those slushboxes...I had bad taste of what autocrossing an automatic "sporty" is like at last years event. Give the automatics more power to compensate for the 1-2 seconds the tranny coasts between gear selection...
I'll take a 5spd detuned to 20+ less hp than being forced to drive an automatic. Vracer111, who doesn't know how to autocross an automatic vehicle yet - it just feels too weird.

I took an RX-8 out on one of the famous local twisty roads. And it handled it superbly. You could tell it's more of a street car than my RX-7, but it did just fine. I kept telling the salesman in the passenger seat that I'd love to take it out on an autocross course.
I think people will be impressed with these 3s. They are a very good car for the price. I wish they had a Rev It Up date in Seattle.

Of course I wouldn't mind autocrossing the RX-8 either like yall mentioned! A local Mazda dealer is sponsoring this years Houston SCCA events, after they recently started running a group of RX-8's late last season. Boy are those fun to watch on course!

can anyone tell me what dates are in or near Washington D.C.? I'm browser impaired at the moment...specifically their site is full of Flash and I'm on a 64-bit LInux box that the Flash installer doesn't support.
Thanks,

Don't get your hopes up too much for the drive center. At best it can be described as leisurely. They only put cones down to make you feel like you're part of the action.
The actual autocross is the only place you can have fun behind the wheel.
