Default hard wiring radar detector to clock?

I have a 98 ITR and was wondering which wires should i use to wire this detector so that it will only come on when the car is on and i can leave the 'on' switch on the detector alone? Anyone with a wiring diagram from a integra clock?

Please let me know if you think it's ghetto, I did this in my '00 Celica GTS and loved it.

well, it doesn't need to be wired to your 'clock' specifically... all you need to do is tap into a 12volt ignition wire. There are several under the dash. I couldn't tell you which one is what right off the top of my head, but with a multimeter and a needle (to stick through the wire in question) you can find out in less then a minute.

You need to find any source that turns on with the key. I had mine hard wired to the cigarette lighter circuit. That only turned on with the key....

the cruise control button has a 12v ignition wire... not sure if you've got cruise so i'm not sure if it will be there. your cig lighter only works when the car is on... you could tap it as well...

see now, I couldn't have a car that didn't have cruise control... that would leave me with one less place to tap for 12v ignition, 12v parking lights, and one less thing i could strip from the car.....

hehe
