Default d16y8 into 89 crx dx -- obd2 obd0 distributor question

i am getting ready to swap a d16y8 in to an 89 crx dx. one part that i am unsure about is the wiring for the distributor. i am using the obd0 dx harness and converting that to mpfi and i am going to use a boomslang obd0-obd1 conversion harness. will this work, obd1 ecu controling an obd2 distributor? what wiring needs to be done to get this to work? should i wire the distributor directly to the obd0-obd1 conversion harness? or should i wire the distributor to the obd0 engine harness? does anyone have any suggestions or maybe a pinout or diagram? lemme know, thanks in advance.

edit - i just read on ef-honda that the d16a6 distributor bolts on to the d16y8 head. if this is true, can i just use this dizzy and let the obd0-obd1 conversion harness take care getting the signal to ecu?

If you use an A6 distributor which is OBD0, then you'll need to also use an OBD0 ECU and injectors with resistor box. That would eliminate the need for an OBD0-OBD1 ECU adapter harness. The A6 distributor will bolt to the Y8 head without modding it. It CAN'T be used with any other ECU than an MPFI OBD0 ECU (PM6, PM7, PG7, etc.).
If you are using an OBD0-OBD1 ECU adapter, then you'll need an OBD1 ECU (P28), OBD1 injectors, 4 wire O2 sensor, etc. This will require some extra wiring and plug changes in addition to the MPFI and VTEC wiring. You could use the Y8 distributor with this setup and rewire the plug with OBD1 plugs. The OBD1 conversion with P28 would be the best setup in your case, but the OBD0 parts and a VAFC or similar way to control VTEC and tune the air/fuel is also commonly used.
