Default Got into an accident.....can any of you guys give me an estimate as to how much you think this is go

Cliff Notes: Driving down the street on the left lane, taxi driver is merging onto the street I'm on and cuts over 2 lanes at once cutting me off, he hits his brakes and I hit mine but still ended up rear ending him.

Results = http://www3.telus.net/dirtydon/accord/

Edit:

Can anyone give me a rough ballpark figure of how much this is gonna cost to fix?

doesnt look like any of the lights are broken or anything. So it hink probably around 2000, thats depending on how much damage their is under the hood.

The clips for the corner light are broken, grille is messed, hood latch is messed, and there looks like theres something sitting on the radiator.

it doesnt look that bad, they can knock ur hood back in place if you dont want to replace it...corner lights cost like 20$'s on ebay, grille is like 40 on ebay or less,
it shouldnt be more than a grand or less if u can do the work urself... gluck...

bumper cost a few hundred for a brand new one, unless u want to drill new holes to mount it back on cause ur bumper dont look messed up at all, just out of place...
and it doesnt look that bad that anything under ur hood might have gotten damaged, the most ur radiator, but its always good to test drive it, make sure no rattling or any funny sounds .. it looks like u hit not going more than 25...i wouldnt be too stressed..

well if it your radiator core support is messed up then its gonna be upwards of 2000-3000. but if not then i would say around a grand to get it fixed right at a body shop

My exhaust is messed up and I just got it replaced too. Alot of rattling from the exhaust but other than that I didn't hear anything. And the clips on the side of the bumpers are toast. So I'm pretty sure I need a new bumper too bad theres no Certi-Fit up in Canada otherwise I'd go there.

if your short on cash just drill a few new ones for now till u can buy a new bumper,
or go to the classifieds section alot of people sell used bumpers after they throw their kits or something on, if you lived in ny, i know a place that sells oem bumbers for like 100$'s in black though...but otherwise junkyards are always a good choice also. gluck

I agree, 1000 tops unless you can do the paint yourself too, that will prolly be the priciest part

my buddy rear ended someone in his 240sx, messed himself up reall good.....check to make sure that the frame isnt bent in thr font....cause then no matter what u do to fix the bumper, if the frame is bent, itll be all cockeyed. most of that (cept for paining) you could do yourself, u should be able to find stuff of ebay or OEM online stores for cheap....just dont get sucked into doing antying u dont want done, some body shops are pitbulls, and will try to suck money out of you

A similar thing happened to me a while back. I had to replace the plastic bumper, the steel inner bumper (which took most of the impact), one of my headlights, fender panel, and the corner light. Those parts came to under $200 CDN cash at a pick your own parts place.

I saved tons of cash by picking the parts, then putting it all back together myself. Your car's newer though, so a lot of wreckers might not have those models yet, but the money you save, it's worth a try to call around to see if anyone near you has the parts.

Even if you can't put them on yourself, you'll save cause whatever shop you take them to won't have to find the parts and won't mark them up on you.

Good luck.

Yah I will be doing the body work by myself and the paint work as well. So basically all I really need is car parts. I can't seem to find a bumper or hood locally and was thinking about calling Certi-Fit but everyone tells me that they don't ship. So I guess I gotta check Edmonton or something.

well i went up underneath my buddies s-10 extreme and it did about $3000 in damage to my old 94. it was $1500 for parts which included new hood, new bumper(bumper was untouched except a scuff and clips broke), new radiator core support, new grill, new radiator, and new headlights. here's a pic to give you the idea of my damage. so if you do everything yourself it will be like 1500 for parts if your radiator core support is messed up, if not then it will be under 1000. check people selling parts and check junkyards.

Mom listened to my dipshit cousin and took it to some shop and they said they could fix it for 1250 cdn including parts and labour. I said are they factory parts or some **** aftermarket parts. She goes and tells me the parts are from Taiwan and they are only gonna cost us 500 bucks or so. Hood, bumper, grill, headlights, corners, and what not for 500. I don't see how it can possibly be that cheap because looking at your accident your bumper wasn't even touched and your radiator core support is messed. I'd hate to see what mine looks like because I know the grille and something else was crunched into the top beam of the support. So I don't know, I guess I'll see how it turns out when we get it back. Oh yeah and thats before engine work because from what I can see the radiator is bent and my exhaust might have been knocked loose.

if possible, i'd try and find at least a used OEM hood. Aftermarket hoods tend to dent very easily.

Yeah. I'm working on finding a hood. I think I found one at a local junkyard going to go check it out later. Still need to find out whats wrong under the hood though.

dude that price was good to fix ur car just make sure they fix everything and not just put ur all bumper back and drill new holes at the side to keep it stady. anyway the price was good its 300 more but at least u don't have to go through that painful work urself because the bumper is a bitch to instal it properly. my advice go with the shop eventhough they might use jank jard parts.
