Default Anyone tried this clutch.... on the street...

I ordered a new clutch disc from a friend... and he didnt understood what I wanted... so I get a race disc with 3 puck and no spring in the center...

I know that it is for a race purpose and he use this disc in his road race Prelude ... but can I use this on the street... I just think that it is really hard for the transmission cuz there is no spring to absorb the shock.... I know how it will engage and all this but anyone tried it for a long period and didnt like this kind of disc

I was expecting to get more like the FX 400 but I get a FX 500 style.... I dont have the exact name of the companie who built my 3 puck disc but you get my point anyway ... http://www.clutchmasters.com

So I need opinion on this should I try it or it is a big no no ....

A BIG THANK...

I used to drive around in a 3-puck Broward Clutch. It was not to bad. drove it for about 25000 miles but then again it had springs.

Actually I liked it better that the ACT 6-puck non sprung disk that I have now.

a 3 puck will have more pressure on the pads so it'll be super grabby and chirpy. coupled with a non-sprung hum it'll be brutal for street IMO.

a 6 puck disk would be sligtly better (i think)
overall, i d say return it for what you want.

What type of tranny do you have? The reason I asked is I bought a Action 2KS
which is a full face kevlar unit good for 250-275 ft-lbs of torque. I should be at
300ft-lbs for street and 400 ft-lbs for race which means I under clutched myself.
The FX500 is what I'm looking for and the 2KS should be perfect for you. Mine
is brand new never installed maybe we could work out a trade, what do you think?
I would need you to find out what exact clutch yours is?

i was runing a cm stage 5 on my integra before it got stolen.
that is a 3 puck non sprung hub.
it did chatter a lot at first, and grabbed pretty hard. after the break in, it was fine.

you should be fine.
