Default What turbo should I buy?

I have a 99 Civic SI with
b16a2
9:1 srp
eagle rods
ss valves
balenced and polished crank
blockguard
hondata s100b
drag turbo kit
drag manifold

My turbonetics turbo from the drag kit is leaking oil and I am smoking a little. I think the seals are bad in my turbo. I have 15k miles on it. I want quicker spool and better efficiency. What should I buy. I am running 11 psi but eventually want to run 13 with new injectors. Thanks,
Troy

Here are pics of what the turbo was doing

I'm sure its obvious to you that to get rid of lag, getting a smaller turbo is usually the way to go about it. I'd suggest a T3 or T3/T4, I'm not the most knowledgable turbo person, but maybe we can get some feed back here.

Check out Turbonetics...

There's also, i might ahve this wrong, but there's a T25? i think, its one of the smaller turbo's produced.

And just to clear up, when you say more effecient? you mean turbo effeciency? or fuel effeciency?

Hey good luck, hope we can spike some interest in the turbo savvy's around here.

Lots of info there. lol.

Precision makes their own housing, but i believe its still the T3/T4 compressors. I think you should be looking for turbo's with A/R's down in the .43 range. I think it comes down to the smaller your exhaust A/R is the less lag you'll see.

Do you have any specs on your current turbo?

I meant turbo efficiency. I heard that the turbo that comes with the drag kit isn't very efficient at boost levels < 12psi. I know I will have some lag especially with my drag mani but would a ball bearing turbo spool quicker? I was thinking of precision sc50 or sc32. I want around 320 whp. I am not sure what the specs of my current turbo are.

GT28RS would give the best performance, efficiency, and spool of any turbo on the market.

you want a quicker spool and better efficiency... well precision has some very nice turbos. For the boost you want to run, look for something like a 57 trim with a .48 a/r to help with spool. Still can make good power with a faster spool.

The GT's are definately a nice series (we've had 2 sets on the Supra (GT-30R's, 35R's) and those things spool like crazy, even after you shut down the motor )... I woulld stick to Precision but if you're looking for something roughly in the same size and a little cheaper go down to the SC's, possibly a SC-50 or something along those lines... Just my $0.02, Good Luck

After using many flow calculators and reviewing compressor maps for about a month now, a really good trim for the b16 is a T3/T04e .54 trim with a .63 A/R. The .54 is at 75%+ efficiency all the way through 16 psi. If you are looking for bigger numbers and a quicker spool I would go with a .60 trim with a .48 A/R, T3/T04e Just my .02 ...good luck though.
