Default Odd tire wear... 205/55/R16 Dunlop Sport A2's on Enkie 5 spokers...

Had them put on at Discount tire, so they come with a free replacement deal if they wear down before the alloted milage. They are 50,000K tires, and I have put about 17,000 ish on them, always kept the pressure up, and only had one stretch of about 9K ish that I didnt rotate them.

I take them in for a ballance because I was getting a "worbleworble" sound that would make you think that the tire is out of ballance. they show me the tires with them off, and they all have the inside edge worn down quite a bit, like almost nastily worn in comparison to the rest of the tire that looks brand new almost.
So, they question me about if I have been rotating and eveything, which of corse I had, except for the once that went 9k. Im not sure if they will replace them for me or not, but there is no way it was the rotation thing right? because it was on ALL 4 tires. Its like the way the car rides with them maybe? the stock camber is making them wear on the inside? The tire guy called it "cupping" but I dont know about that.

WHat do you guys think?
thanks. SOHC

^is your car lowered. your camber may be out of wack. most likely it has something to do with your alignment and not the tires. does this occur on the front tires or both f/r?

'nasty' wear on the tires is usually toes issues and not so much camber. how low is the car? why do you rotate the tires so much?

Im not lowered at all, and discount tire says that you should rotate every 6 to 8K..... But ya, completely stock suspension..
When I say "nasty" wear, it looks like someone filed the inside edge off. Just fast driving couldn't do this you think? I dont auto X or anything...

well first off you are running the wrong tire size; it should be 205/50/16. but the nasty wear you describe is exactly what bad toe in/out will do.

Actually, 14's are the stock size, on an LX anyway. I went with 1s to get the best ballance between comfort and control, for a stock car anyway

So, what you are telling me is that Discount tire gave me the wrong tires for my car? they fit the wheels, so they have to be the wrong wheels also right?

What is the diff between the 50 and the 55 if you dont mind me asking?

Oh, and to clairify, the wear was cupping, where it was in a wavey pattern around the inside edge. Makes some nice noise on the highway

So, should I make them replace them? Do I have leverage you think? (wrong tire/wheel for the car) ?
thanks!

I have a 93 accord with 205/60/15's and I had the same exact problem, only thing I could figure was wrong was that I had a bad upper ball joint, alignment was perfect but I think due to the ball joint making the wheel move in that way caused wear whenever I was cornering and it was always the inside. Jack up your car and try to pull the top and bottom of the wheel in and out, if there is any play you got a bad ball joint, never had wear like this before and it's the only thing that was out of whack when they checked my alignment after replacing the upper control arm.

wrong tire size, not rims size.

it's called plus sizing, it keeps roughly the same overall diameter to the wheel.

you started off with a like a 185/70/14 i believe. if you got to a 15" rim (ex models) you would run a 195/60/15. go to a 16" and you can go wider too, hence the 205, but it should be a 50 series to keep the diameter proper.

hmm, so was it dangerous to have those tires on there? or all it did was make the outer diameter way larger than it should have been? I do remember when I first got them, that they didnt look quite right. Other 16's I saw had much less rubber and looked closer to being "lo pro"

Thanks for all the good info!
