I'm looking for a track bike this year. I need something that's got good handling from the factory but the one thing I need is that it was to be cheap, doesn't have to be brand new either.
Any suggestions?

fzr 600... if you can find a 400 that is the original track ****
ex500 is cheaper in all respects but not as fast. You won't notice your first 6 track days at all. It also forces good technique to make up for the lack in power. Very trying on patience though if you're in company w/ slow guys on new superbikes

If it were me then I would budget a rear shock and maybe fork internal kit into the equation. Better to have someth9ing slower and better handling.....esp for a first track bike
Anything you can find parts for cheap is the biggest plus, which means fzr or older model cbr. Thats what I would go for for my first track bike. If you can find a sv650, its a great bike too but the competition will be very crowded if you plan on racing.
find a frame for a 02 gixxer 600 and Ill put my bike back together for you with race plastics. im in T.O. . I know a lot of folks with ex racers, what do you want to spend, better be more than 6g's
