Default PLEASE HELP ME DIAGNOSE THIS SHITTY ACCORD DUDES!

yo my car wont start man, wtf.
its a 91 honda accord, wit 170,000 miles on it
i havent had a tune up in like a year and a half
its mad cold here in philly
this happen before, a few months ago. i went outside to drive and it wouldnt start, so i thought the starter died. then i went in it a week later and it started right up and was fine for months.
i noticed oil was coming up thru the top. like up thru one of the bolts in the manifold and it was oil around the oil cap...and this was like 2 days after it last worked. iono if oil bubbled up and spilled into the spark plug area or what
o yea people keep telling me check the battery, but the radio and the car alarm still work. so i dont think its the battery. is it possible the battery is strong enough to power the radio but not start the car? iono man help!
damn 1 more thing, its cranking but not turning over. if that helps

o yea it was having a wierd problem last week before it stopped starting too, every time i hit the brakes the head lights came on. that happened for like 3 days then it went back to normal for a day or two...then it just wouldnt start.
its like 20 degrees here man, i cant be catching this slow azz bus dudes

It very well could be the battery. The lights and radio will maybe draw a 10A current from your battery while trying to turn the starter over can draw signifigantly more than that. Bring the battery up to your local parts store or Batteries Plus and have then run a load test on it. Basically it will test to see if it has enough power to do the equivalent of starting your car with the lights and other accessories running. If it passes the test then time to look at something else.

If the plugs were bad, they will stay bad. They wont get better just by running the car or letting them sit for a week so I would rule that out.

Is it continuing to crank strong? Or does it sound/feel like it is spinning slower the longer you keep the key turned?

Well this would lead me to believe it is an electrical short, maybe in the charging system.....

Check your battery first then we can go from there.....lots of possibilities.....

i know exacly what it is, i just fixed my neighbors car who was doing the same thing. the car was cranking fine but not starting, the battery was brand new. I asked her when was the last time she had a tune up, she said about two years ago, i decided to check the spark plugs, all of them were soaked in oil, enough to make me think that there has been a problem for a while. I cleaned the spark plugs off and the car started fine. check the spark plugs, clean them if they are dirty, if they are fouled, replace them. I think that should work. If there is oil on them, its probably a valve problem $$

also, does it sound like there is any compression? instead of 'stuttering' a bit, does the cranking sound light or smooth?

does anyone know a tutorial on how to do spark plugs on a honda. it has to be one out there somewhere

grab wire base, pull. you will need a spark plug socket, and most likely an extention to get them out.

yea its pretty much like desolate says, just pull the part of the plug that goes into the head out, the size do the spark plug is usually a 5/8 and you will need an extension, when you put it back in, to make sure you dont cross thread it, put the plug in the spark plug wire and start it by hand.
