I thought greddy type s was supposed to be loud
After seeing countless posts saying that this bov was loud I bought one and changed out my apex one. Its installed right now and this bov was a big waste of money cause on my car it just sounds like my old apex bov, which is quiet. And it doesn't even sound chirpy at all. do any of you guys have the same sound as me, or are all type s's supposed to sound chirpy? I'm at 5 psi. thanks.
on my old setup,if the bov pointed toward the throttle body,it was not loud.if you turn it away from the tb,it was loud as hell.

which end do you turn away from the TB? the "horn" part?

I have my HKS BOV pointed towards the coolant overflow. When it sounds it makes a double pssshhh sound, it's kinda cool. But my friend has the Greddy BOV on his TSI and it's chirpy and loud, probally cuz he's running 20 psi.

my type s was loud. at 6 psi on a sohc vtec. then i changed to turbo xs rfl and its really fucken loud
but then i changed it back to the type s for the hell of it. cuz i have the turbo xs/greddy type s flange i got from ebay. and its not even as loud as it used to be pretty weird. so i just put back the turbo xs. i loved the whistle that the type s made too

I've never heard of this. Can anybody confirm this concept?

i didn't know that changing the direction would make a difference but i have always had mine pointing away from the tb and my type s is really loud. i could hear my car from about 2-3 blocks away.

well I "fixed" the problem. I swapped bov's w/ my friend who also has a type s. I put his bov in my car and vice versa. His worked perfectly on my car, loud like I wanted it to sound at at the same 5 psi. My new type s worked on his car. So its wierd we are both at 5spi and my new one doesn't work on mine but only on his, and his type s works on both of our cars. It seems that his spring was softer then mine, so we opened my bov and took out one of the springs, and now its looser and sounds much mich nicer. Well I hope taking one of the springs out is ok. thanks for your replies.

Once I started boosting in excess of 1.0 bar it was hella loud.
