G STOCK, do you allow to...
remove the trunk carpet which attached to the rear seats?
and can you remove the console box and replace it with the JDM hand brake cover?

if it can't be removed w/o t00ls, then you can't remove it.
Yoshi is right, but unless you are running at nationals or in an area with real jerks I doubt anybody will say anything.
I can see it now: "I would like this man disqualified because of his JDM handbrake cover...."

but the truck carpet doesn't hvae to be removed with tools. Just rip it out and that's it.
Every little bit help. People remove mud guards for weight too, and that carpet definitely weight more than the mud guards. You can go **** before you go racing, that makes a difference too.

don't say that if you haven't personally weighted them, because I did. Yes, I really have that much time to waste. The carpet comes with a layer of sound deafening material which make it heavy.

cita: ever think that you are removing weight from the wrong end of the car? and seriously, how much does it weigh, I just carried my backseats with the carpet attached up to my parts closet and I'm guessing the whole thing with the seat backs is like 15-20lbs. def most of that is the seat back.

yoshi: don't feel bad. I leave **** in my car too. It does't appear to change the outcome of the event anyways. Hell, I don't even know what pressures are in my r compounds, never checked, never cared, never will.

As far as my R goes, I just removed the spare tire and jack permanently. I try to auto-x with about 1/4-1/2 a tank of gas, but there's never a noticeable difference. Driver skill is still the biggest factor for ITRs in G stock.

huhu...I always fill up the night before I got autox'ing. That way I don't have to stop by the gas station aftwerwards when I'm all tired

That thing is, I run road course, not autoX, weight doesn't affect autox as much as road course. A miata which has much less HP than R, but can do very very well in autoX, but at the road course, not a chance compare with R.
At a few of the Solos I have been to you need to have the interior rear shock covers in place. Supposedly so it makes it hard to quickly adjust your shocks if you have those. And Others will protest you if you do not have the removable rear decklid in place (Not the one in the truck, the one right behind the back seats)
Some people will protest anything and everything to get ahead even though everyone knows it does not make one difference.

For what it's worth I'll go with the carpet being heavier than the mud flaps ( which I don't have so I can't weigh anyway )...
Oh.. and one thing I do have that you sunshine boy's would never have to worry about... About 50lbs of undercoating to stop my car from disappearing out from under me in a couple of years, leaving a pile of rust...
Wanna hear somethign that is sad, mud flaps are technically illegal in G-Stock, those are a dealer installed option, not a factory installed option. Anything installed at the dealer as an add on is technically illegal in stock class. For example, the front and rear spoiler on the S2ks and mud flaps are illegal in stock class.
and people wonder why I don't like auto Xing! That event is too damn ****! All their rules and lame a$$ regulations sounds like a old womens bridge club event! lol
This is quite funny and at the same time very educational... I mean, it's good to know what makes our cars stay in the "Stock" class, but to say that carpet weighs down the car is just ridiculous. For example, I usually get my best run on the 4th (out of 4) try... and it doesn't matter if I have a passenger or not. It's all about smoothness and getting the course down... I mean if I can get the best time of the day w/ extra 200lbs in the car, then carpet doesn't mattter in the equation.
p.s. damn, you mean I just got moved to SM if I plug in the JDM center console? WTF?
[Edit] Now that I think about, I don't have the stock wing on and I have RS door handlecover... does that mean I'm in SM class?
