Default 6th gen starting problems---

This winter has been very hard on cars, on my Honda as well...

Every morning, my 02 6th gen now takes two starting attempts(the other day, three) before the engine comes to life. I understand that cold weather can wreak havoc on a car's normal operation. However, this car only have 14k on it.

Is this something I should be concerned about?

Oh BTW, after the car starts, I won't have the problem again until the next morning.

I've been having the exact same problem w/ my '02 coupe SE. My engine has 23k on it. Anyone have suggestions so I'm not killing my starter?

Cold weather kills batteries and if your car is left outdoors overnight it most likely will not have the cranking power to get that starter spinning the flywheel. But once the car is warmed up and the charging system fully recharges the battery the chance of that happening again is slim-to-none until you leave it in the cold for an extended period of time again.

well with the older accord i had to pump the gas once, i have a 6th gen now, maybe not as cold as other places, but i do have denso iridium plugs. the spark is pretty good. also, let it crank on the first attempt, if not then maybe fuel line might have a problem too

i have a 95 accord and it starts fine no matter what the weather, unless there is less than a quarter of a tank of gas, i thought maybe the fuel pump was starting to age, but i got a new one with my swap, and the car still does it. Does anyone have any idea what this is?

Seems to only be a problem when the temperature is under 10 degrees F. My only option for parking is outdoors in a parking lot. You gotta love New England.

Yes, mine too. The starting problem is gone for now since the temp is above 15 degrees F.

Definitely something to consider about when I sleep over a girl's house, and her boyfriend shows up unexpectedly.

dude you guys are having the same issuse as I am!

wife's setup:
93 accord 10th edition
auto
newer JDM ex motor & tranny
3rd old battery
msd 6al
blaster2 coil
msd cap
viper with auto start

I'm in Minnesota and it's only been about the past 2-3weeks that my wife has been complaing about starting the car in the morning or cold motor The past 2weeks has been 5 to 16- with the windsheild..... blistering ice cold!!!!

I have had MSD on the car for over 2 years and no problem at all.
I did notice about 1 month ago that while driving on highway @ 70-80mph
my tach would bounc up and down within 200-400rpms for just a few sec then stop it would only happen maybe once every 2 weeks or so but does not seem to affect the power of the car.

could my distributor be going out already?... or should i just blame it on the freaken COLD *** weather?
