Default cam gear adjustment advance/retard

ok, i got a stock bottom b16a and stock head w/GSR cams, i just picked up a set of adjustable cam gears but im not sure about the settings. I have heard advance the intake 1 degree and retard the exhaust 2. I have no clue! also will it matter what the settings are when i hit the nitrous.???
