Default Reg. GM Syncromesh or Syncromesh Friction Modded?

i got a 94 GSR thats goin boost in the next couple months. i read that the Friction modded stuff helps alot with grinds and such and i got 140,xxx miles on my car but NO noises or grinds or anything (knock on wood) so should i run the reg syncromesh or go with the modded one? thanx in advance guys

Go with the FM, shifting is much smoother in my car, 154K on mine.

From the GM dealership: "GM Synchro Mesh Friction Modifier Part # 12377916".
And I got this info from typing in Synchro Mesh in the search.

My bottles of friction modified did not have a fancy sticker on the front. Just plain gray label with part number and MTF labe. It was darn dusty when the guy brought it out to me. I guess it's oooold stock.

threads back to life huh....anyway i just went with the regular syncromesh, as i had to grinds or funny noises anyway, and i got it real cheap too (like 4 or 5 bucks)...the FM almost sounds too good to be true, and i read somewhere it eats yur seals or some garbage, who knows

I doubt it. Otherwise GM would be getting sued about right now.

I used the regular synchromesh and it got rid of my 3rd gear grind. My tranny has 220K miles on it btw.

well concidering prior to wen i added it i had some cheepo citgo 10w30 in there (dont worry, only for like 2 days) after rebuild, the reg synchromesh was a good step up
