im thinking of buying this 92 lude sr 4 sale seems to be a good price has 100 000miles or 200 000kms on her what r some things i should ask and look and check 4 on the car??? i dont want to get ripet off thanks guys

 

look for rust or repair of rust on the rear fender wells . ask if the timing belt has been replaced . ask for oil change recipts, ask how many ownders there have been. if that engine has been abused its not a car i would want.

cold start and run. engine leaks around the head or the valve cover, rev it a bit here and there during a cold start and drive it.

 

I'm looking into buying an 89 SI with 188k on it. The owner has most of the service records and seems to have had little or no problems with it. You can't always be too sure though. It seems like it's a crap shoot when buying used cars anymore. If the price is really right, then you just take the lumps when problems arise. This one i am looking at still has the original clutch, so i know it won't last long. At least the timing belt's been changed twice. Or so they say.....
