Finally got my apex-i N1 canister installed this week, have a few Q's
Well, I ordered a turbo sized N1 canister because I really didn't care for the smaller universal N/A canister, and this required a muffler shop to increase my axle-back piping. I have 2 questions regarding the exhaust:
1st Q)The axle-back piping is now 2.5 inches from a 2.25 inch mid-pipe, and although the exhaust sounds great, I'm curious if anyone thinks this is causing a loss in HP because of the bump in pipe size to a bigger muffler (3 inch inlet)? I can't really even give butt-dyno impressions since the roads are too icey to grab good traction.
2nd Q) There is some sand laid down on the streets here in Winnipeg and I'm just curious if there are any cleaners or polishes you guys might recommend for the canister and inside the tip??
Any info on either subject would be appreciated.

I've read before that it's okay to have stepped piping like you do. If there is an actual loss in power, it shouldn't be anything really dramatic. As for cleaning it, I always clean my muffler (Tanabe RM) with carwash soap...whenever I wash the car.
thanks for the reply., i went to Walmart b/c Canadian Tire was closed and the people there really had no idea what would be suitable
. They actually recommeded me to go to Canadian Tire tomorrow for an exhaust cleaner........

IF the N1 is angled like the catback system, try not to get any water in there. It is very hard to get water out of a muffler that is angled that much. It will rust the inside over time and the back of the muffler will start falling apart.

Thanks for the tip. The muffler was not angled to an extreme (just very slightly in the upward direction). The tip sits almost alligned with my back bumper, maybe a little bit inside of it, so hopefully it won't be exposed to the rain.
