How to check CEL on '96 civic?

Default How to check CEL on '96 civic?

Like topic says, where do i put the paper clip, which plug?

I can't remember if you can do that on OBDII hondas, but you can go to Autozone and have them pull the codes for free.

its a blue clip under the passenger side behing the plastic kick panel on the ground once u remove that u will see the ecu and then a blue plug tucked up there some place just put the paper clip in there from one whole to the other and then put the key in the ignition and turn to the on position the ecu light shoudl blink now if it was solid before the plug was in.

So, the 96-00 is the same as the 92-95 civic's? Above describes the Eg perfectly....

My parents 98 LX CEL is on. Got to check it out in a few.

pretty much there just isn't an led on the ecu, it's the dash CEL that blinks the code

I have no need to search on how to pull the codes. I have a Snap-On scan tool.

by this i meant CEL light sry ...older cars have the light on the ecu
