I want to replace the carpet, replace a burnt out light bulb behind the dash, and a couple of other things. Do I have to remove the engtire dash? If so, how do I do that? Where are the screws?

Well, as I look at the dash, the gauge cluster lights must be burnt out on the left side because that side does not light up (the temperature gauge and the tach from 1000rpms - 3000rpms). The rest of the gauge cluster is fine.

What all has to be removed to take out the carpet?

 

i believe all the seats, door sills, kick panels ,center console and trunk release/fuel door release trim.
as for your dash light problem it does indeed sound like a bulb problem , i think all you have to remove are the 2 screws that point up in the bezel . i usually use a stubby phillips screwdriver
