i just did it being that it is realy cold out i figured i wouldnt suck as much hot engine bay air in...well i left the bottom portion on and just removed the lid(stock airbox btw with a k&n drop in) well i know the butt dyno sucks but it gave me a lil better throttle response and it pulls better in the higher rpm's...is it logical due to the frigid temperatures outside?...

 

i did the same thing to mine b4 i got an intake and got the same thing and it was louder

 

yeh it got louder to but i like the quieter sound with the lid on...i heard with the lid on u feel more low end torque which i can kinda justify for but the better throttle response with out the lid seems to make up for it...
