Default ES Motor Mount Inserts review

installed them myself today with my pops help using 4bidden's awesome write-up. below are my impressions:

Install: to tell you the truth i think we were more cramped for wrench space doing the front mount rather than the back as everyone else says. Although the rear mount took longer because it took forever to get the long bolt to thread back up after re-installing the mount. Also i didnt trim off enough of the mount and it got in the way of the 2 rear bolts which made them harder to thread. Btw, in the write-up it says the 3 rear bolts are 14mm but mine were 17mm...perhaps a simple mistake? Other than cramped space and getting the rear mount fastened back in, it wasnt too bad.(even though it took us like 4 hours. we work slow.) oh and i cracked my TB gasket

Performance: my stock mounts werent in too bad of shape so my shifting wasnt very affected. but i love how much stiffer the front end is now. the vibes are a little harsh at idle but really cool when the car revs. passengers can feel the engine a little more which is impressive and hopefully wheel-hop was reduced somewhat. (i havent launched the car yet, its snowing here) the car feels a little more like a DC2 now...i like that.

great mod for a great price i definetely recommend it.

mine was easier since i already had the transmission out. the engine was only supported by the driver side motor mount and the tranny jack i had underneath it.

Yesterday, Grant and I were making some aftermarket motor mounts (which basically means, he was telling me what to do ). He already made the mould out of silcone and we poured in the polyurthene with some blue coloring dye... and voila! We tried using a softer compound of polyurthene which was way too soft for actual use so we stuck with the hard compound which is identical to Energy Suspension's version (but cheaper... :D). Anyhow... here are the pics....

Mould...

Mixing the polyurthene and coloring dye...

Pouring the polyurthene into the dye...

After a couple of hours...

Voila...

are those the full mounts or just inserts?
are those for a fifth gen, 'cause they don't look like 4th's (or do they?)

I feel dumb asking, but I just broke my front motor mount so I'm looking for another one, and I'd like to maybe get poly (at least in front/back). So I'm looking around, but still unsure what I'm looking at, precisely.
