removing intake mani
when you put it back on make sure the damn gasket seals properly... i swapped a 96 ls head on my friends 90 ls and the manifold gasket didnt seal and when we started it up the tach jumped to 5000 rpms and wouldnt go any lower... it acts like a huge vacuum leak... we scratched our heads for awhile then changed the gasket and the car ran like a charm

To remove the manifold you'll have to remove the black support bracket 3-4 bolts, and then remove the 10 or so nuts holding it on the head. Disconnect all of the hoses, fuel lines, wiring harness from injectors, and your good to go. Be sure to remember how the vacuum lines go if you've never done it before!!
new gaskets are great. what is this a winter tune up? don't forget your cam seals and water pump.
o yea, and take a little metal out of the i&e ports while your in there
