Default skunk2 intake manifold.. I know it's been beaten to death...

damn it. .i can't decide. people say i'll lose low end.. but then blah blah blah..

I plan on installing this at the same time as my ITR cams, and changing my p72 ecu to a P30. Should I get the intake manifold?? or not. I cant decide. Will there be a big difference?? Soembody please say something to sway my decision.

As for people saying that there is a dip with the ITR cams and the butterfly design manifold, I dont believe there will be, if tyour butterflys are working correctly. I believe that most people that experience a dip either don't have the butterfly's working correctly, or their ecu isnt sending the proper signal to the intake manifold.

A Skunk2 manifold, ITR Cams, and an ITR ECU will run wonderfully. Its when you just run a Skunk2 manifold alone do you lose a LITTLE low end.

I can't get an ITR ecu for an OBD1 car. Just gonig to plan on getting a stock P30 ecu.

If a power increase is what you seek the answer seems self explanatory... The P30 is a good idea too(if you have ever tried runnin a GSR ecu with an ITR you notice the drastic change when the butterfly theoretically opens) just make sure your car is not runnin lean because of the fuel curves designed for the b16 instead of 18. I have installed several skunk2 manifolds on a variety of different B18C setups hatchs tegs etc. and the most noticable improvement is definately on the top end where it is obvious the car can breathe easier, and though the dyno may suggest that there is a loss of power down low, I noticed and increase in drivabilty with casual shifting... go figure, for the absolute get the Victor JR intake manifold it is a BEAST

not yet as far as i know. dont worry about the low end loss with the skunk2. its a very small loss. as soon as you hit 6k rpm with those cams and the manifold you will completely forget about the low end

The Victor X was made more for boosted applications, for RPMs 7k to 10k.
If you are sticking NA, youll want the Skunk2. The AEBS isnt out for the b18c1, and even if it were, I dont know if I have been all that convinced yet about it. I dont know how they can only charge 170 or whatever for it.

I was thinking of the skunk 2 as well. I have ctr cams in my car.

I was thinking get the skun2 and the comptech icebox for type-r since you need a larger diameter intake? Would I need a new throttle body? I'm thinking of itr valve springs and retainers, then getting an ecu and obd2->1 harness. Would I need anything else before getting it tuned? Like fuel rail or anything for it to run optimally?

dam nit.. still can't decide

i need somebody to tel lme that I'm losing tons of power by keeping the stock GSR manifold and that I'd be stupid not to get the skunk2 intake. \

For some reason, my jdm gsr motor is really strong, for a gsr. pretty much bone stock right now, it will run in the 14s on a heavy civic coupe chassis. used to own a 12 sec civic, n kinda miss it now, don't even know y im modding my car n e more hmm.... so many decisions.

Just get it, and then tell me how you like it and why I should buy one too.

Oh well that is simple - get the Skunk2 manifold - with ITR cams itll scream, and your stocker manifold is simply restricting those cams.

restricting it to a point where it might.. uhh.. damage the motor? so this mod might have to be crucial in order for my motor to last right?

Get the skunk manifold. The high end gain is so worth the low end loss.

I didn't even feel any power loss in the low end. Get it. It'll be worth it.

get the manifold for sure! While your at it, add a Hondata manifold gasket and get your throttle bored to 64mm. (guy on here does it).

How much labor is required for the install of the manifold?

I bought the Skunk2 IM. Haven't installed it cause gaskets from Acura are freaking expensive. But I do plan on using it. It is good stuff for your car, GET IT NOW!

If you've got the money you might even want to port it. If you don't, oh well.

just updating my install of my skunk2 manifold.

I installed it at the same time as my xact 8.8lb flywheel and 62mm tb. The difference was HUGE compared to what it was. It might have been the flywheel, but I can swear my low end is sooo responsive now and definately gained a lot more power in the low end. With a chipped P28 running an all motor program, vtec comes roaring in like never before on my stock manifold. a definate must have for slightly modified gsr owners.
