whats the easiest way to remove an axle?

Default whats the easiest way to remove an axle?

i'll be doing a clutch install soon on my bro's LS, and i'd like to know what you guys commonly take apart to get the axles out with the least amount of effort. please be detailed....i'm not looking forward to this weekend

from what it seems, all hondas are pretty much alike when it comes to axles, is this correct? i've done it on EF's before....will the integra be very simliar?

D-series engines have a long axle on the driver side and a short one on the pass. side. B-series engines have a center halfshaft that bolts to the block, and then equal length axles on both sides. It's better to remove both axles and then the halfshaft separately, but if you have trouble getting the driver side axle off the halfshaft, then you can just remove both together as one unit, similar to the 1 long axle on D-series engines. Keep in mind the 2 pieces together will be pretty heavy, so have a friend helping.

take all the necessary bolts and nuts off. Use a pry bar and pry where the axle meets the tranny case. Might need to use a flat head screw driver to open the slot a bit bigger to fit the pry bar.

whatever you do, dont pull on the axles.
