convertion from auto to manual?
I have a damn automatic teg, but I want to convert it to a standard. I was wondering if anyone knows approximately how much it will cost to convert my car into manual. If anyone know where I can go to get this done for a good price any information will help thanks.
yeah but a manual..or better yet a gsr...and if you want to keep your car...probably around 2K or so depending if you want performance clutch/flywheel and if you want an ls/gsr/itr or si tranny
im in the process of doign the swap.. day 4.. ill tell you this now .. better have lots of patience and get ready to have some white hairs... the small parts like misc, screws and nuts and bolts here and there thats whats gonna get yah....and not to mention some of the parts u can only get at a dealer.. and they charge an arm and a leg.. for example the bolts that bolt the pressure plate and the flywheel together cost about 4.50$ a piece!! and u need 6 of em..this swap is very costly.. i still did mines even tho i knew all this information.. but hey wha can i say .. shes my wife ..
You should consider selling your current car and use that money towards one with manual trans. It will save you all the frustration, unless you like to do the work yourself and get closer to your car.

dude, being an automatic owner I gotta tell ya, just sell it and buy a manual like they said
my mechanic told me $3300 for a b18c1 swap by him and after reading this board that is borderline cheap for all the work he'd be getting into

Only 1 person here has actually done/is doing the swap and most of the others are here to discourage you. Now if you want to keep your car and do a swap, it's not hard on a G3 teg. I don't know about the G2 (which by your username I assume you have), but those are cable trannies. If you have patience, a little knowledge, and MOST IMPORTANT - a Helms service manual you can pull it off relatively easy. However if you don't want to be bothered with anything more than installing I/H/E or you pay other people to work on your car, it might not be such a good idea.

Heres a parts list:
LS or GS-R Tranny
Transmission Linkages
Transmission Mounts
Clutch
Flywheel
Pressure Plate
5 Speed Pedals
Manual ECU (can convert auto ECU)
Manual Gauge Cluster (optional)
Shifter and Shift Boot
Clutch/Slave Cylinders
Clutch Resovoir
Matching Throttle Cable for the Pedal Set
hydraulic lines
Intermediate Shaft
Upper transmission mount
Patience
So, if you find someone who has parted out their manual, you could cut a deal for all parts listed. It is, however, a lot of bolting and unbolting for both people.

Also, keep in mind that on a G3 Integra the upper tranny mount from a manual DOES NOT bolt into an automatic chassis. They sit at different locations. Place Racing makes a mount to solve this problem however.
I did an auto to stick in my car wasn't hard. Had all of the stuff laying around. Takes alittle knowledge. Total cost if you can find all the parts-700 at the highest-400 at the low end.
If he drive a G2 that he doesn't need Clutch/Slave Cylinders
Clutch Resovoir
Matching Throttle Cable for the Pedal Set
hydraulic lines
go to a bike store and make the clutch cable yourself. You need to do research.

as for me my friend donated the whole car to me
and all I have to do is swap most of the parts
from one car to the other.
so the cost is going to be under $500.

talk to mintegra97. he did the auto to manual swap and paid around 2500 for parts / labor (act clutch, fidanza flywheel, ls tranny, skunk2 shifter/****, place racing bracket, ect ..) labor only took 1 day too

This is also true with the 90-93 2nd gen chassis.
