Default DYNO TUNED MY GSR-T... CAR RUNNING HOT... HELP!!!!

I dyno tuned my gsr turbo at Church Automotive Testing yesterday and shaun church says my car is running hot (coolant temp). What can i do to cool it better? I made 221.3 hp and 162tq @ 6.3 psi , Shaun says if i had a cold air filter and bigger exhaust piping (i used custom 2.5 in exhaust piping that wasnt mandrel bent) I wouldve spooled a lot faster and would probably be at 250ish hp at the psi i was running, i also need a better cooling system.... Can anyone help???

My set up is basically the same, but ran 8psi, crept to 9psi at about 7k rpms. At 8psi made 287, 294 with his s2000 cold air set up. Only thing I see different is I have 3" turbo back exhaust(except downpipe), 550's and my turbo is SC34. I had full boost at 4k rpms exactly. Tuned by Church also.

yeah you can try and get lower degree theromostat at autozone, lower degree fan switch, and/or dual core full radiator. depends on how serious you are bout a few ponys 10-15whp.

about your worries about the down pipe heating up charge pipe. i wouldn't worry about it b/c you are only boosting a minute 6psi. therefore your intercooler is more than enough to cool air.

if you have t3/t04e turbo. it's efficiency is around starts 10-12psi -ish. so you are way under it. if you turned it up to 10psi, i'm sure your hp mark will be around 280-300whp

Little things can also make a difference. When did you change your coolant last? Run a lower temp themostat, try red line water wet or something similar, its a coolant additive.

Clean your engine compartment. Dirt insulates the engine, keeps heat in.

I'm worry about my dumptube heating up my charge pipe because it is aimed directly at the charge pipe and my oil feed..

Did they use a cooling fan while the car was being ran? What was your coolant temp, A/F's at?

If it directly at ur charge pipe im sure thats your problem. I have a friend with that exact same problem and his car over heats too. I am boosting alot more than you are with a stock radiator and have had no problems. Just make sure u have enough coolant. You might want to drain it out and put in 30% coolant and 70% water and also add some water wetters. And just to do a couple extra little things get a cooler thermostat like the mugen maybe. But for sure fix that dumptube pointing at ur charge pipe first of all.

When i was tuning my car, my coolant temp was hot from what shaun church told me... I may be losing some power there but i dont see why my coolant temperature is caused by my dumptube heating up my charge pipe.. My car isnt overheating or anything so thats a good start.. Im planning to fx the dumptube problem though, and also get a new thermostat, maybe a fluidyne..

I say drill some small holes in your thermostat and run some Redline water wetter. Or upgrade to a aftermarket radiator as mentioned before.
