Default Is there a way to fix scratches in clear plastic?

I was taking out my temp controls and accidently scraped my face plate on some metal thing and now it has a small scratch. Its not that deep at all but it pisses me off since it was fine before. Is there anything I can rub on it to get the scratch out. I have rubbing compound but I'm afraid that might scratch up the rest of it or something.

I'm sure that you can get it at an auto store or hardware store

Well headlights are a lot different than a head unit. Headunit would probably get more scratched up if you use sand paper.
