hey guys, i havent posted on here on a while, but i thought i'd share whats up with my car. If you dont remember, i wrecked my black 91 CRX Si, and vowed to bring it back in a new car. so i got a Red 91 Si as a donor car. stripped it down to basically nothing, and was going to put as many parts from the wrecked one as possible. while i was at it, i got the EF8 front end for it, as most of you know. Then about a month or so ago, the car went down to the body shop, got all the scratches, dents and rust repaired, was prepped, primed, and got its first phase of paint done. Phase 1 was to cut in the fenders and paint inside the door jams sills, and any spots to start the color change. it also got a quick coat of paint to seal it on the outside. reason for this, is while i put the car back together, if i scratch anything, i can have the painter touch it up for final paint, so i dont mess up the good stuff when its done.
Anyway, i have since gotten the car back, swapped motors (195K D16 to a 117K D16) the tokico suspension has been put on, and 90% of the interior is back in, which all but the pass quarter window trim, and pass larger panel are from the wrecked car. Also got my JDM maplight installed as well.
here are some pics of my progress:

new motor on left , old on right

i also have a vid from when i tested the power folding mirrors

i dont have pics of the interior in yet, but i will soon. We also just got the fenders back yesterday, and they are back on the car. so with that, we just have a couple little things left to do, and it can go back down for final paint
So that's it for now, its really nice to see the car look more like a car now
Hope you like the pics and the progress

????? what? this is a pretty clean engine. the intake wont be staying, neither will the heat shield, and i will get the valve cover powder coated in time. it does have a little bit of stuff on it, but those are the big nasty pieces, and the rest i can clean up easy

I just have a thing for shiny clean engines..
props on how much time it looks you have put into the car and a good work
must just be the contrast to such a clean engine bay

yea.. i can see your point.. its cool. so when the car gets done, and i have my new parts on it and can clean the rest of the bay up, then maybe i can get closer to having a clean engine bay

try going to any of the JDM sites, passwordjdm.com, hmotorsonline. but i got mine off ebay. just make sure if you do get them, that you get the relay to make the folding part work.
