I'm always running over nails
Why can't construction companies just clean up after themselves.
Got a nail in the passenger rear tire. I just rotated them, so the backs have probably 10K life left. Plug it for 20 bucks or just buy a new one?

What's another $50-$60 for a new one...

No, what's another $100- $120 when you have to buy 2 replacments in order not to have one fresh tire and 3 that are well worn in.

screwed
from what the tire shop said, it's illegal to plug these days, so they take off the tire from the rim and patch from the inside. 20 bucks.
or I could just keep driving on it.
I have to drive 75 miles for a business meeting tonight

Yeah, SCREWED!
Paid to park in an underground garage near my old place of employment and ended up picking up a screw in an driving through a construction area.
I was hoping it was just a stone stuck to the azenis, but by the time I got home and parked with the wheel "cocked" (haha), it was there right on top looking out at me!
Took it out and I heard some air, so off I went to NTB and the did just what you said above (patched it from the inside for ~20$). Ed

Go to your local auto parts store and buy a tire plug kit.
They usually only cost a few dollars. Then do it yourself. It's very simple and does not take long to do.

Marc, I have had my tires on for about 4 months now and I had to get one patched the first week I had them and they are still fine. The patch makes a 100% fix, go for it.
****, Pep Boys patched one of the pimp wagon's balloon tires for ten bones. But they did say the same thing about plugs...
Not two months later I tore a hole in the sidewall on some trash in the road

Patch that biotch
I've driven for ~10,000 miles with a screw in my tire. Even did a few autocrosses with it in there, never lost any air or caused me any problems

Yeah patch it, plugs are garbage. As for tracking that tire, I would be a bit scared. I haven't done it, but I have heard opposing stories. Some have said its okay to do, others say it would be dangerous.
i say patch it and be done with it

.....take it to discount tire.
They have a 1pc plug and patch combo thingy that they use.
I've tracked tires that they've repaired using this system and had no problems.
Oh yeah, they do the repairs for FREE.
Cosworth, HIT ME UP MAN! I NEED TO TALK TO YOU ASAP!

I'm agreeing on the Patch and Plug route for normal driving. I had this done to a hole very close to my sidewall, its working great; but I decided not to track the tires again.
Had that happen to me also on my last azenis. I got screwed and since I don't run the car that hard during rainy season the screw literally got smaller and smaller till my treads turned into slicks.... Got new ones and i got screwed again
