Default reducing high under-bonnet temperatures

while getting a road tune with the hondata today, we noticed the temperature sensor reading 75 degrees c (167 degrees fahrenheit) in stop start traffic. it dropped down to around 60'ish (140) once on the move. that's still quite a bit of heat soak.

what alternatives are there to insulated intake manifold gaskets and/or cutting holes in the bonnet/getting a vented cf bonnet are there??

getting a vented bonnet would help prevent heat soak, but when it starts to rain water is going to start driping on your exhaust mani. but it would help. or you could do the washer trick.

the washers would be a smart move. there is nothing you can do to help temps while your sitting other than a powerful fan. you can hardwire it to the ignition or have it on a switch inside your car. where was the sensor at? underhood temps will normally fall to ambient once you get over 40mph. hence why most people say cai's dont' help over a short ram when you get over 30ish

i've heard about the washer thing, where abouts do you place the washers?
the only place i could see for them was under the hinge. looks like it might help a bit...

the sensor was the reading from the factory temp sensor, the one on the back of the intake manifold. the hondata software was giving us the reading

you place the washers where the hood support bolts are, at the base of your windsheild. like 3 or 4 on each side should be enough.

Would you need to remove that rubber seal as well.
The one which goes from one side of the car to the other, its by the
wiper arms or washer squirts and seals the bonnet down.
