Warming up Azenis??
just curious...would u warm u your new azenis?? or go around the water box?..i always went around with street tires....but the drag event is at night..and it looks like it could be a little colder than expected.
Plus: i never burned rubber at the an event before..this is what i've heard to do..
roll slowly though the box until ur rear tires are out.
rev up to 5500 in 2nd and drop it..hold for about 3-5 seconds, while pulsing the gas.
drope ur e-brake and slowly let off the gas until the car grips..stage and go.
setup is 2000 type R turbo..with 255whp.
also, how bad is it on the tranny and clutch doing a second gear burnout??
Thanks, Mark

i would definatly avoid the water box no matter what, unless your runnning full blown slicks. i ran azenis everytime ive been to the track, they are awesome, but god is there more wheel hope then anything else. it sucks! if you still can, dont get the azenis, go buy yourself a pair of BFGoodridge drag radials for the track. ive been told that the side wall on the azenis is way too stiff for drag racing. but, if your still using the azenis, just go around the water box, so you dont bring water on the track from your tires, that will **** people off. any kind of burnout will be torture on your car, no matter what. do your burnout, mainly to clean off any of the debree and rocks or what not that sticks to the tread. dont go past the staging lights though with your burnout, its not nessary. it sounds like you have tons of power, so that E-brake could be helpful to keep you in place. just do a burnout till your tires smoke. that should be plenty. just play around with it and try doing things different ways each time and see what works best for you. hope that wasnt too much rambling and helped you out a bit.
If they are warm, minimal burnout/scuffing is the only thing needed. It takes too much wheelspin to warm up a pair of street tires in the cold, so just make a few passes and let the rolling friction warm them up. Just dont waste your time/tread trying to bring cold tires up to temp.
Friends car (similar to mine) with 210whp has gone mid 13's w/ 2.1 60' on Azenis.
Nice tire
Low tread life
